About Me!

Hello! My name is Emily English and I am eighteen years old. I am currently a Freshman at Florida State University. I intend to receive both a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Elementary Education before I move ahead into the teaching realm. Some of my hobbies include watching and reviewing movies, as well as playing the flute. Over the summer, I traveled all over the state of Florida and even went to Alabama with my sister's softball team.

As I grew older, the technology advancements in my classes became more and more noticeable. When I was in middle school, my Algebra 1 class was provided iPads to use in helping students learn to be more tech savvy while also developing our math skills. One of the main tools I remember my high school using was personal Chromebooks that we would use to do research and do classwork in an online setting. In addition, in my senior year, several teachers from the school received Smart Boards, where teachers could teach using the internet as well as creating an interactive, touch-screen white board.

In this class, I hope to not only be more technologically fluent, but also fluent in a way that will benefit my role as a teacher in the classroom. As time goes on, classrooms become more internet friendly and the generations become more advanced technologically, so teaching while utilizing the tools of today is increasingly more necessary. If I can learn to be smart with technology, it can only benefit my future students as well! I am truly excited to begin this class. Creative Commons License
