Journal Ten

It is hard to believe that we have reached the final blog post. As much as people may have lamented it, I find that I will miss my weekly EME2040 updates. I for sure, in the future, will keep a blog, especially when I actually become a teacher and need to share information with peers, students, and parents. What a beautiful, rewarding journey this has been. For my final blog, I will be talking about data collection and reporting, classmates' blogs, and other new technologies.
I think as a teacher, I will probably use programs like Surveys and Excel quite a bit to use for data collection and reporting. I think that surveys will be a good tool to not only get to know my students, but also to know how parents think I am teaching their children. I think this is a good way to anonymously submit information that can help me improve in my own work in the classroom. I could also use Excel to not only keep track of the reporting of this data but for many other things as well. I think Excel might be a great tool for things like grading, rosters and checklists in the classroom. When I become a teacher, I will be an elementary school teacher, which teaches any subject between the grades Kindergarten and either 5th or 6th grade. These tools will be easy for me to stay organized and aware in the classroom.
I think the things that I found most interesting from the blogs of my other classmates' was getting to see their own creations and works. I loved, especially, seeing everyone with their own newsletters and ILPs. I liked to see how my classmates' differently interpreted the class assignments. This was most apparent in the ILPs, where I used a website called MyStorybook.com and LinkedIn Learning. I saw that a lot of people created handouts and posters using different websites, which was very fascinating and great to learn from. I will for sure continue using the tools that my peers recommended when i finally head into the workplace.
Finally, it was hard to think about what technology-related skill I would like to learn next because I already feel very enlightened from what I learned in this class. I finally decided that I would like to learn more about Google Classroom, so that I am affluent with it in the classroom. Any person with a Google account can set up a Classroom account. Anybody is easily able to make a class and explore the many uses of the website, so I think that I will work on exploring this tool more and more as time goes on. I wish to use Google Classroom in a way where I can set up questions or polls, short-response questions, or even link surveys and stuff for my students to complete.
This has been such a fun and rewarding journey, keeping up with this blog. I cannot wait to continue my blogging journey, which began in this class. For the final time, signing off to you EME2040 friends...
